Monsters

There are monsters
Clawing at my insides
Looking to find a foothold
To climb up my throat
And through my lips
They bubble and froth in my belly
They howl and scream in my lungs
They rage
They rage
They rage
Until a wisp of one reaches my tear ducts
Then trickles down my face
Into my mouth
Where my tongue darts out to collect
And I swallow them back
Down my esophagus
And into my belly
Where they will forever reside
